KooZa Makeup

Just some make-up and costumes, as per usual. I’ve been making some new friends in yourpants.org
Yup, we’re a weird sub-culture.
My profile in your pants (haha, never gets old) is here.

If you want to see more of my CATS costumes, as i describe them in their ancient pitiful glory…

From Paleontology to Props

I know I’ve posted this video before, but that was on the old YouTube channel. Please watch it (again or for the first time), come on…Shark Teeth!

For your weekly dose of my nerdy-ness, here’s the vlog. Give me props, yo! (It’s a joke, just watch the video…hehe)

Fun with HD

So, ever since I got my new Cannon Rebel T2i (a beautiful SLR camera) I have been using it more for filming on then for actually taking photos. I mean, sure, tons of Christmas photos were taken but besides that…it’s all been video. So I’ve been searching for tons and tons of Final Cut Pro how-tos. It’s great because now I know how to edit in widescreen and export an HD video (youtube ready), all the wonderful things college editing classes did not teach me. Exciting! Anyways, this lovely new toy has lead me to make more and more videos for my youtube channel (as you’ve probably noticed). I’d like to share the latest one with you. It’s a contest entry to a music video contest for a wizard rock band called Ministry of Magic. The song is about the seventh book but my video’s premiss is ‘what if I could go to the wizarding world?’ It was a bit of a spur the moment project so the cinematography is not the best, but the story is fun and the HD is just amazing to me (I love new things!) So go check it out and tell me what you think.

How Fandom is Strange and Inspiring

What is fandom? Wikipedia says it “is a term used to refer to a subculture composed of fans characterized by a feeling of sympathy and camaraderie with others who share a common interest.” That seems about right. It’s a well known fact, if you know me, that I tend to get pulled toward the little known harmless subcultures. Such as the band Hanson or the musical Cats. (Really, those are the main two.) Cats in fact has inspired me to become more artistic growing up. A long and seemingly never-ending project I’m ‘working on’ is a fan fiction based in the world of Cats, dating back to 24 years before the Jellicle Ball that is the musical. It’s an epic tale conceived with one of my best friends Julie, whom I met in Jr. High (when the story got started). We are currently re-writing it, mostly for our own enjoyment. I got to see her for New Years and together we got to talking about what we always talk about; how the characters in this famous yet conceptual musical are related.

Also, recently I’ve met some girls who are interested in the costume design of the musical. We all have dressed up as the characters different times in our lives, for fun and for performance. It’s a bit of an odd hobby (and nervously borders on the world of ‘furrys’ which I am not a part of) However, it is harmless creativity and fun. I talked a bit about my experiences with Cats costuming in my Monday vlog here:

Thank you for putting up with my odd fandom talk, there will be more of it here for sure. If anyone has any ideas for videos for my main channel, Cats related or not, let me know!
